The Smart car was a project that my friend Katy submitted to me to do. It gave me the perfect chance to experiment with complicated car body shapes. It also explains why its pink.
I edited almost every polygon on the body to get the shape. It had to be made in different sections then "Sewn" together. Alot of NURBS where used to create the curves of the door and handle.
The tyre was the easiest part, a tube shape which I tapered to create the curve of the tyre itself. Then creating the alloy wheel hub with a simple flower pattern but tweaked to look alot less organic. I mapped a repeat of a tread and bump-mapped it to give it more depth.
I did not go into major detail - I left the interior completely and only did the obvious outside extras like lights etc. This project was more of a test on my polygon editing skills for the body work more than anything.
